Whoa, Dude!

I'm late to work - again - but spring break starts at noon today and lasts for two glorious weeks.  Hopefully during that time, I'll write that post I've been meaning to write for weeks regarding the noise around the presidential election, Frothy and all those other things that swirl around the windmill of my mind.  Meanwhile, all I've got is this:

I was thinking on the election. I posted my thoughts the other day. I have got to say, my thoughts weren't to far from Ted Logan esq.

John Lennon summed it up for me. Sadly, I don't think they're giving any.

Probably true (the picture). My Spring Break is only one week, but I'm now off until a week from Monday. Woo-hoo! I'll be up your way next week. Hope to catch up with you. I'll e-mail you soon.

I've been thinking the same thing for nearly three years now. I voted for change, but all I got was more of the same. Horribly disappointing sameness, in fact. I think I'm voting Green this time, mostly so my mother can't blame me personally for whatever goes wrong in the next four years. She essentially told me that I was to vote "pro-business" this year, unless I want to be cut off and disinherited. I tried to explain that voting "pro-business" didn't mean voting for small ~$1 million dollar per year businesses like hers, it meant voting for BofA, Exxon, BP, Citicorp, and Goldman-Sachs-- NOT her business. But, alas, there are none so blind as those who WILL NOT see. She probably would cut me off entirely if she knew that I was at Occupy for Education in Sacramento last week.

Happy St. Paddy's Day, btw. My son is making his delicious pressure cooker Guinness steamed corned beef with braised and lightly caramelized carrots, red potatoes and cabbage for dinner. I can hardly wait the three or four hours until he gets it done. (We always eat late when he cooks. Timing is NOT his forte.)
